電子音響ピープルって何？ What is THE DENSHI ONKYO PEOPLE PROJECT?
電子音響音楽（Electroacoustic Music）とは20世紀中頃に始まった、電気的な技術によって作られた音を素材として作曲する表現手法全般を指します。なかでも、録音した物音のモンタージュによって作曲される「具体音楽」は、1948年にピエール・シェフェール（1910-1995）によってフランスで創始されました。当初はレコード盤が用いられていましたが、磁気テープの登場によって録音された素材の切り貼りがより簡単になりました。長らく大がかりなスタジオで制作されていたこれらの音楽は、さらなるデジタル音声編集技術の発達やコンピュータが低廉化したことで、一部の限られた作曲家だけではなく、誰にでも作曲できるような音楽になりました。
この音楽は、20世紀初頭から始まる現代音楽の文脈に位置づけられてきたため、多くの人々にとっては、理解したり楽しんだりすることが困難とされているようです。このような音楽の制作手法そのものは、1990年代半ばからテクノやエレクトロニカといわれる分野で一般化してきました。その一方で「新しい音楽」をより強く指向する電子音響音楽は、なかなか多くの人々との距離が縮まりません。「新しい音楽」を強く指向するような試みは、長らく「難解」と思われてきたことが大きな原因の一つと考えられます。
しかし、私達は数多くのワークショップを実施してきた経験から、このような音楽は誰にでも楽しめる音楽なんだ、ということに確信を持っています。そして、わたしたちは今、このような音楽を、より多くの人々と共に共有し、楽しみ、さらに共に作るために「電子音響ピープル」を提案します。私達と共にまだ誰もが聴いたこともないような「音楽」を作りましょう！
Electroacoustic music, which began in the middle of the 20th century, refers to all musical expressions composed using electronic technology. This type of music includes concrete music (musique concréte), composed with a montage of pre-recorded sounds, which was established in France in 1948 by Pierre Schaeffer (1910–1995). During this period, analog disks were used to compose concrete musical pieces. Later, in addition to analog disks, magnetic tapes appeared, simplifying the process of composition. Moreover, pieces composed in large studios by a small number of composers were now available to a wider audience. Music could now be composed by anyone, owing to the development of digital sampling technology for sound recording and the fall in the prices of personal computers.
It may be difficult for many people to understand and enjoy concrete music, as it has been situated in the context of contemporary, vanguard music established at the beginning of the 20th century. The composition of these musical pieces is often generalized as falling within the fields of techno-music, electronica, and so on, beginning in the mid-1990s. It has not been easy, even today, to bridge the gap between people and electroacoustic music that directs the idea of “new music.” One of the reasons for this may be that experiments in the composition of “new music” have been seen for a long time as being “difficult.”
However, the many workshops conducted by us indicate that many people do enjoy composing electroacoustic music. We thus propose a project entitled “THE DENSHI ONKYO PEOPLE PROJECT”—which refers to “electroacoustic people”—for people to share, enjoy, and compose electroacoustic music. Let’s compose musical pieces as yet unimagined, and let all listen to these with us!

電子音響ピープルって誰？ Who are Denshi Onkyo People?
・電子音響ピープルとは、参加するすべての人々のこと
・素人も玄人も関係ありません
・電子音響音楽が好きな人、これからやってみたいと思う人等々
・Denshi Onkyo People is about the everybody who is taking part with it!
・It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or an amateur.
・Everybody who enjoys electro-acoustic music and anybody who wants to begin composing electro-acoustic music
※１：プロのアーティストが参加者４〜５名の作品を一つの楽曲として完成させます。
※２：なにぶん実験的な音楽なので売り上がるかはわかりませんが、発売後１年を区切りとして売上げを参加者の方々に分配します。
[1] Professional artist will complete an electro-acoustic piece with the sound tracks by 4-5 participants as a collaboration piece.
[2] We are not sure the pieces will be sold because of its avant-garde aspects, but anyhow we share the sales account with the participants.
